Physical Literacy
Physical literacy is “the motivation, confidence, physical competence, knowledge and understanding required by participants that allows them to value and take responsibility for engaging in physical activity and sport for life"
At Brookwood we pride ourselves on being being physically literate. Research has shown that being physically active later in life depends on an individual's ability to feel confident in an activity setting. That confidence most often comes from having learned fundamental sport skills as a child.
At Brookwood Middle School , students will participate in a wide range of activities that are developmentally appropriate for their age. Upon graduating from BMS, students will feel confident to participate in any activity setting.
